Hello and Welcome!!

Today I have a new monthly box called "The Southern Beauty Box to show you.Instead of showing you the whole box in one post I will be showing you the items is separate posts. This monthly box will include Limited Edition polishes from Creations By Lynda, Down The Bayou Lacquer and Cinema Swatch Lacquers. There will also be a 5ml cuticle oil by Creations By Lynda and a 4oz nail polish remover and one Finger Fizzie by Cinema Swatch Lacquers included in each box.
The Southern Beauty Box is now available for pre-sale until June 29th for the low coat of $35.You don't want to miss out on these limited edition items.
The theme for June's box is "New Orleans".Today I will be showing you Creations by Lynda's contribution to the box. This box will only be available for purchase in Creation By Lynda's shop.
Lets take a look below.

"Brass Note"
This is a clear base glitter polish packed with brass colored glitter.
I applied 5 light coats and a top coat in the photos above.I also did simple chevron nail art on my ring finger.
I the future I think I am going to use this polish strictly for a top coat and not use it as a full coverage polish. In my opinion, using 5 coats is way to much and can be time consuming.Although it is stunning when used as full coverage,it is also even more beautiful over another solid colored polish.
"Praline"
This is a cuticle oil that will be included in The Southern Beauty Box.The scent is called Praline. The scent is not for me.I prefer floral or citrus scents. It is very strong and smells like syrup of course. If you like the smell of syrup this cuticle oil is for you.Whats nice about it is you can wear the smell of breakfast on your fingers all day long!

This box is going to be a good one for this month. You definitely don't want to miss out on all these goodies for the great price of $35.It will be available for pre-sale until June 29th so get yours before they are gone!Stay tuned for more information and products in this box.
Reminder:This box can only be purchased in Creation By Lynda's shop.I will post the links below to direct you to her shop ect.

Down the Bayou Lacquer/Summer,Cajun Style Collection

Hello and Welcome!!

How's your week going?Mine has been extremely busy, just the way I like it.My allergies have been kicking my butt here lately. This past month I have been waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air. My asthma is so out of control.Anyway...I'm not sure if you have heard the news, but Down the Bayou Lacquer is releasing the new Summer,Cajun Style Collection tomorrow,April 26th. This collection will be available for pre-order for a week. You will have until May 8th to order your favorite colors. All orders will be shipping around May 17th.
Now this collection is a lot smaller than her last one, which is not a bad thing. This collection has 8 beautiful blends, her last one had 13.Lets take a look a these beauties below.
SUMMER,CAJUN STYLE COLLECTION

"Fresh Louisiana Strawberries"
This is a red/pink jelly polish with light pink, light green mixed glitter with green micro glitter, red iridescent shimmer and a touch of pink holo circles.
I applied 3 coats with a top coat. This polish is a tad sheer but it's build-able.Now with the pink holo dots, they do need to be fished out just because there's just a few of them in the formula.
"Girls Wear Camo Too"
This is a clear base glitter topper with green iridescent micro glitter, green and pink flakies and brown hex glitters.
I applied 1 coat of "Girls Wear Camo Too" over 2 coats of SinfulColors/Beau Khaki.(Perfect combo,if I do say myself)Next time I go hunting I'm wearing this!
"Cruisin Back Roads"
This is a bright green lime jelly with green iridescent shimmer,orange/green iridescent flakies.
I applied 3 coats and a top coat. This polish is very sheer but build-able.I didn't apply more than 3 coats because I didn't want it to look caked on.
"Muddy River Banks"
This is a soft brown holo.
I applied 2 light coats with a top coat. This is my favorite in this collection. It applied so smooth and the formula was flawless. It was not to thick or to thin. It's perfection!
"It's Festival Season"
This is a clear base glitter topper packed with multi colored flakies.
I applied 1 coat of "It's Festival Season" over 1 coat of SinfulColors/Rise & Shine. When I saw this polish I was not sure that I was going to like it. To me it looked like the confetti in a bag from the craft store BUT I was wrong! Although it does look like the confetti from the craft store it looks flawless on nails.I did not have any issues with the flake sticking up. It applied perfectly.Oh another thing,I would not recommend applying 2 coats just because the flakes can overlap making it look caked on.
"Bonfires and Tailgates"
This is a light purple/periwinkle holo with iridescent shimmer.
I applied 1 coat. This polish is beautiful but it was thick and had bumps from the shimmer and was streaky. I brought the issue to Jodi's attention and she said that she would tweak the formula a bit to fix all the issues. I also applied a top coat and the bumps and streaks were still visible.
"Windows Down,Radio Up"
This is a Blue/teal holo with iridescent glitter.
I applied 1 coat but 2 coats would be perfect to. This color was not bumpy but it was slightly streaky even with a top coat.
"Storms Rollin In"
This is a grey jelly, with a mixture of black glittter, holo flakies and silver iridescent shimmer.
I applied 2 light coats and a top coat. This color looks beautiful in the sun but unfortunately my sun shot looks horrible. LOL

Overall I think that the colors in this collection are beautiful. There was some formula issues but that will be taken care of before the collection launches. You can check out more info on this collection on all of Down the Bayou Lacquer's media sites, which I will post below. What do you think about this new collection? Are you ready to pre-order your paints?

Down the Bayou Lacquer/May the polish be Ever in Your color:Part2

Hello and Welcome!
Today I bring you Part 2 of the "May the Polish be Ever in Your Color":collection by Down the Bayou Lacquer. Some of the polishes had to be reformulated and sent to me. It was totally worth the wait.If you missed Part 1 of my review click here. Now lets take a look below.
"The Rebellion"
The Rebellion, a symbol of defiance and bloodshed, a rise against the Capital.
This is a brick red creamy subtle holo polish. I applied two light coats and no top coat. This beauty is absolutely hands down my favorite color in this whole collection. Jodi has switched out mica for something even more amazing that allows a smooth and shiny application. I had ZERO issues with this formula.I really felt choked up when I had to take this polish off. I love everything about this polish. It's Perfection!!
"Real or Not Real"
Peeta's favorite color that's the color of the sunset.Real or Not Real, you tell me.
This is a peach/orange cream polish with golden shimmer.I applied two light coats with no top coat. This polish is stunning. It has a subtle shimmer that adds character to the color. The formula is very smooth.
"Twisted Freedom"
When you are forced to kill to be free and fight for your life, that pretty much describes Twisted Freedom.
This is a baby blue creamy polish with a touch of holo. I applied two coats and a top coat. I took this polish outside in the sun and the holo seems to be hidden in the pretty blue cream so no sun shots were taken.
"Rue's Song"
This is the reformulated version. This color is on my first review on this collection. It didn't have enough holo so Jodi added a bit more. You can see the holo a lot more than you could with the first batch of Rue's Song. It gives off a small shimmer in the sun which is nice. Note that this color does stain your nails. Be sure to double up on your favorite base coat. I applied two coats with a top coat,no undies.

I am telling you, Jodi has really made some improvements this year. She has switched to a new formula and ordered new labels, wide brushes and matte caps for her bottles. I don't make her polishes look pretty, they make my nails look pretty. I am proud to review for Jodi, she is a sweetheart and a hard worker. She is so driven and keeps going no matter what and I respect that. To read up on more of this collection check out Down the Bayou Lacquer's shop and social media sites. Link will be posted below. Down the Bayou Lacquer/May the Polish Be Ever in Your Color:Collection

Hello and Welcome!!!
Today I have a huge collection to share with you by Down the Bayou Lacquer. This collection is called "May the Polish Be Ever in Your Color". This collection is inspired by the Hunger Games book series. This collection has 13 polishes, one for each district. I will not have all 13 polishes on my review today. There will be a part 2.
For those that have not read the books or seen the movies I will try not to go into great detail so I wont spoil any juicy details.I have read all the books and Jodi actually let me borrow the first book. After reading that one I could not stop reading. The books are that good. As for the first Hunger Games movie, I was not that happy with it.I have not seen the other movies but I'm hoping that they are better than the first one. My advice to you is, read the books first. You wont regret it.
Now lets check out this amazing collection!!!!
"Betting on You"
Cinna, Katniss's personal stylist/friend told her before the 75th annual Hunger Games,"I'm still betting on you".
This polish has a clear base with black hexes, black squares, dots and donut shaped sequence glitter. I applied one coat of Betting on You over two coats of Pure Ice/Siren with top coat.Everything applied smoothly.
"Madge's Pin"
You can only wear one thing from your district to remind you of home, so Katniss's friend Madge gave her a gold pin that had a mockingjay on it.
This polish has a clear base with various shapes of gold glitters. I applied one coat of Madge's Pin over 1 coat of LVX/Virdis and top coat.I had no issues getting glitter on my brush at all.
"Bloodbath at the Cornucopia"
The Cornucopia Bloodbath is an event that happened in the beginning of every Hunger Games. Do you dare to stop and get food and weapons or should you run???
This has a clear base with various sizes of red glitter and flakes. I applied one coat of Bloodbath at the Cornucopia over 2 coats of Suck My Peach and added a top coat. I had no issues with this polish.
"Catnip"
"Catnip" is a nick name that Katniss's best friend Gale calls her.
This polish has a clear base with green and gold flakes and glitter. I applied one coat of Catnip over one coat of Julep/Brielle. There was absolutely no fishing for any glitter. Everything came out on the brush in one dip.
"Night Lock Berries"
Night Lock Berries are a very poisonous berry. It's so poisonous that if you eat it you will die. You don't want to mistakenly this put this berry in your camping bag.
This is a blurple jelly base with donut sequence glitter, fuchsia flakes, pink dots and purple/blue iridescent shimmer. I applied 2 to 3 coats followed by a top coat. These donut glitters are a tad thicker than the black ones. They do pop out a little but applying top coat with help it look smooth.
"Stay Alive"
Stay Alive is the only or best advice Haymitch/(Katniss's mentor) has to give her before she enters into the dreadful Hunger Games.
This is a clear base glitter topper with various colors of dots and hexes. I applied one coat of Stay Alive over two coats of Essie/Cascade Cool.
"Rue's Song"
Rue's Song was used to tell her fellow harvesters when the working day was over. It also was a way for her and Katniss to signal each other during the Hunger Games.
This is a creamy yellow holographic polish. I applied 2 light coats. This color will stain your nails so be sure to double up on your base coat. Another thing about this polish is that the holo can not been seen. I brought this to Jodi's attention and she added more holo in the new batches sold in her shop. She is sending me a new one to swatch. It should be arriving soon.
"Tracker Jacker Venom"
Tracker Jacker Venom is a venom from mutated wasps. Tracker Jackers were used as a weapon during the war and the Hunger Games.
This polish is a clear base with scattered holo and a mixture of holographic flakes and dots. I applied one coat of Tracker Jacker Venom over one coat of LVX/Azzurrum.
"Girl On Fire"
Katniss Everdeen is known as the Girl On Fire due to her HOT  and Flaming costume during the opening ceremonies of the 74th Hunger Games.(Black and lit with lights that resemble flames)
This is a jet black crelly with a golden shimmer. I applied three light coats and applied a top coat. The formula was very smooth and applied nicely.
"The Stench of Roses"
President Snow reeks of white roses and blood.
This is a white base polish with subtle holo and purple/blue iridescent shimmer. I applied 2 coats and applied a top coat. This polish looks matte without a top coat. In the blogger batches there was not much shimmer so Jodi added more to the new batches in the shop. I also stamped over The Stench of Roses. The red represents blood and the white roses represents President Rose's signature rose.

This is not the whole collection. Jodi has sent me the rest that have been reformulated. There is a total of 13 polishes in this collection. 13 polishes represents all 13 districts. This collection was inspired by all the Hunger Games books. This collection is now available. My favorites out of this collection so far is "Betting on You" and "Bloodbath at the Cornucopia".

What did you think of this collection so far? Which ones are your favorite? Check out Down the Bayou Lacquer's sites below and be sure to follow her for update and future releases.
